Ambon - Ambon Falls of Pangil Laguna

In the Philippines there's always this rainy season starting from June/July up to some of the 'ber months,. Its where most of the people tend to stay at home because it wouldn't be a great choice for them to travel or to have some adventure on a wet season. Well, for me its always a year round for doing a great adventure exploring places in the Philippines and not just summertime. Most likely, when I don't have the chance to book a plane ticket going to a local travel destination (because its hard to find a travel buddies who would likely agree to 'okay let's book immediately'), I always end up exploring places near Manila.

Ambon Ambon Falls is part of Panguil River Ecopark. This is very accessible to Manila because it is just located in the city of Laguna. So if you wanna visit Ambon Ambon Falls, you have lots of bonuses adventure to do, because it is being in the vicinity of Panguil River Ecopark. You can try different things in there if you want. You may go to picnic with the family and whatnot.

So what to do in Panguil River Ecopark? There are actually numerous things to do there, you can try visiting two falls, Ambon Ambon Falls and Buntot Palos, just because it is the same jump-off location. But we decided to visit just one, we are running out of time if we're going to visit Buntot Palos because I've read that it requires more time to hike this one. You can also try water tubing and they also offer doing some helpful crafts for a fee. And as mentioned earlier, most people who visits the ecopark, are with their families and just having picnic.



Entering the registration area, there are couches for visitors where you can rest and do some stuffs while waiting for your companion/s taking their time on the registration. Plus they offer a clean bathroom inside where you can change your clothes prior to the trek. There is also a board posted all of the things they offer aside from visiting the falls, getting a guide, water tubing etc. I think they offer so much things to do. There is also an entrance fee of 50 pesos.

This reminded me of LaMesa Ecopark in Quezon City. But I guess Panguil River Ecopark is worthy enough to visit because of its Ambon Ambon Falls. :)

This is where we've started our trek, its a bit paved on the first part and changing scenes later on.

We've passed by this Barkong Bato signage, this is also where the water tubing experience starts. But we will do it latter part.

This is just the first series of water/river crossing along the way, there are plenty more, so you should always be ready getting wet at least knee deep level.

Transferring from one bamboo raft to another. I don't know how deep it may seem, as per our guide, you may opt to swim to get through the falls if you wish not to ride bamboo rafts. I think the first series where we rode the rafts are neck deep level, I just don't know how deep when you are getting near to the main stop going to the falls.

After less than 45 minutes I guess? Hello Ambon Ambon Falls. You will found out why its called Ambon Ambon Falls, by looking up where the water is coming from, then you'll be surprised at how water will sprinkles to your face :) Literally just like when it started to rain(Ambon).

The water to the falls is not even deep, you can swim yourself to get near to it and have a relaxing back massage. 

We're all alone, and we almost own the place! I guess it is really good to travel and explore whenever it is not a peak season. The perks of traveling within these periods will let you explore destination more without the crowded atmosphere.

After our falls - back massage, we go straight to have the water tubing adventure. You will each be given a life vest and specific instruction for this activity. You just have to follow the rules to be safe and just enjoy the ride. By the way, Kuya Manong guide is the one who maneuvers and lead us with this exciting water tubbing adventure. He'll be your driver for the whole water tubing adventure. You can give tip to him, for you can really see his hard work with this activity. :)

Ending our water tubing, it is still an early in the afternoon, so we just did a few walks leading us to the dam area, we just had some chitchat moments and we decided to go somewhere for dinner. :)

How to get to Panguil River Eco Park

By private vehicle:

From Manila, you need to go east to Antipolo and down to Sumulong Highway all the way to Morong Rizal. From here, Panguil Eco Park is just straight ahead the Manila East Road, after the zigzags of Pililla,  a landmark that you are near it is a 7-11 store in the intersection going to Siniloan and Famy. After the intersection, you should just travel straight ahead and there will be sign to your left leading to Panguil River Eco Park. A landmark as to when to turn left is a Barangay Hall.

By public transport:

One way of getting there is by riding a Raymond Bus headed to Infanta, Quezon. You will be dropping off at Siniloan/Famy intersection and then take a tricycle directly to Panguil River Eco Park

Another way is to take one of the many buses heading to Sta. Cruz, Laguna and then riding a jeepney bound to Siniloan.
