The Journey To Dicasalarin Cove

For the last leg of our Baler tour, we are now headed to the secluded paradise of Dicasalarin Cove. Shortly after passing by Diguisit Beach and the Aniao Islets, you will be reaching a tight road which has a very steep grade in which you have to pass to be able to reach Dicasalarin Cove.

At the top of the road is the PAGASA Obeservation Center which is just ahead of the gate to Dicasalarin Cove where you have to pay P100/head and P50 for parking fee(cause we have our private vehicle). After paying, you will now have to travel a very steep descent on another mountain side road on which the end is the parking spot of Dicasalarin Cove.

Careful driving is needed if ever you want to pass by the road to Dicasalarin Cove as the road is narrow and the grade of the slope is really steep. Tricycles can't climb up here and normal gas cars might also not make it. It is advisable to bring a diesel powered vehicle in attempting to climb this road.

The area of Dicasalarin Cove is huge so we first explored the Artists' Village. The Artists' Village is actually a project by Senator Juan Angara in which he wanted it to be a place where artists can flourish and interact with other artists.

There are a lot of structures within the village but the most prominent one is huge 3 story open house.

There are a lot of works on display on the open house and the furniture inside the house are really beautiful.

Another prominent structure in the village is what seemed to be the rooms for the artists. The structure has four corner rooms with what seems to be a jacuzzi in the the middle of it.

After exploring the structures in the village, we passed by the houses some aetas who reside in the place.

After exploring the Artists' Village, it is now time to explore the facilities they have at Dicasalarin Place.

The facility is devoid of guests except the one family we saw preparing dinner at one of the tables near the beach. It was almost 6 when we got to the Dicasalarin Beach that is why we are in a hurry so that we can go back until there is light outside.

It was high tide when we reached the beach part and according to the signs, swimming is not allowed because the waves are too strong and the water becomes deep real quick.

While we were trying to reach the lighthouse, we discovered that the sandbar that we were supposed to cross is quite deep in the waters that is why we just gave up in trying to reach the lighthouse. It is really advisable to go in Dicasalarin Cove when it is still low tide.

The lighthouse

Since we can't go to the lighthouse anymore, we just explored more of the resort's facilities before it got dark.

Eventhough we didn't have much time exploring Dicasalarin Cove as it is the last part of our tour and the sun was setting when we got there. It was still worth it discovering Dicasalarin Cove and the facilities surrounding it and it is a must visit place if ever you are in Baler!
