Daranak Falls - Calinawan Cave Daytrip Itinerary

I will be sharing here our budget and itinerary for our day trip to Tanay, Rizal and exploring Daranak Falls and Calinawan Cave.

Itinerary:

1000 - Start of drive from Manila to Tanay Rizal via Marcos Highway
1200 - ETA Daranak Falls, eat lunch
1230 - Enjoy the falls
1430 - Start trek to Calinawan Cave
1500 - ETA Calinawan caves, start spelunking
1530 - End of cave exploring
1600 - Back to Daranak Falls, cleanup
1630 - ETD going back to Manila
1900 - Back to Manila

Budget:

We used a private vehicle and the estimate gas consumed is around P1000/4 pax
Daranak Falls entrance - P20/head
Car parking fee - P20/4 pax
Table rental - P200/4 pax
Guide to Calinawan Cave from Daranak Falls - P100/4 pax
Entrance fee to Calinawan Cave - P20/head
Cave guide - P100/4 pax (can be good for 5 pax)
Use of shower room in Daranak Falls - P5
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total travel expense per head: P400 -- HOW CHEAP WAS THAT HUH?! :)

Reminder: This tour does not include Batlag Falls, If you wish to add this, you may consider an additional of P100 per head for the entrance fee, plus table rent(I don't know how much) if you wish so. This trip does not cover our food expense as I just brought food from home.

Directions:

By Car:
Since we are using a private vehicle, we tried to be adventurous and drove up along the long and winding roads of Marcos Highway and then you just turn right after reaching the Sampaloc Road intersection. While going down Sampaloc Road, watch out as you will be seeing the sign to Daranak Falls on your right.

On our way back home, we used Manila East Rd. route and then turning right to J.Sumulong road all the way to Cainta and just following the main road leading to Ortigas.

By Public Transportation:
From Starmall EDSA you may take a jeep or van going to Tanay (around P70). You may get off at Brgy. Sampaloc, Tanay Market and from there take a trike going to Daranak Falls, as they say trikes are pricey at P250 pesos for one way, but you can try to haggle it down for sure.
