Marikina City Tour

Day trip near my location is always a go for me whenever I dont have plans for weekends. Ive waited for this time for me to tour around Marikina City, the shoe capital of the Philippines. Beforehand, I've googled the places to go, food to eat and what to do in Marikina City. And here's the rundown of our daytrip in Marikina.

Pan De Amerikana - Marikina

Instead of bumming at home, I decided to have our Marikina City tour on that lovely weekend.. It was a sunny day and this where my feet led me, our first stop is foodtrippin' at Pan de Amerikana. Pan de Amerikana serves authentic 1950's PAN DE SAL. This place thrilled me during college days, it was then introduced to me by a friend, I was googling it and has been curious to their place ever since. What I like more is that they served dishes which can be good for a budget pocket.

Burot Beach, Calatagan Batangas (REVISITED)

Last time we went to Burot Beach, we were caught upon Typhoon Maring's wrath. As revenge for that, we made sure there are no imminent typhoons close by so that we can enjoy Burot Beach to our heart's content.

From Japan to Philippines: Mister Donut's Pon De Ring

While browsing on the internet, I found interesting food trips from other blogs about this so called "Pon De Ring" donuts. Well, having a sweet tooth like me is obviously one of the reason why I'm a donut lover. Through various blogs, I learned about Gavino's Japanese donuts which is actually the first shop in the Philippines to bring the Pon De Ring craze here. Pon De Ring is one of the famous donut variation of Mister donut Japan and (mostly) Asian countries as well. I'm very excited to try this one so............

Burot Beach - Almost Perfect

Planning a beach trip mid-August doesn't really bode up well due to rains and typhoons hitting the country and we had a first hand experience about that thanks to typhoon Maring and the southwest moonson (Habagat) it brought upon.

Mt. Pico de Loro - I survived :)

There was an invite from our mountaineering group to Mt. Pico De Loro and I was on the GO right away. I've seen the event on Facebook, but days before the actual hike became a tough decision because it was a raining the whole week. I was about to back out because I don't wanna risk myself hiking this mountain with a really bad weather (typhoon months, so safety first yea?) and then came Friday before that weekend climb - the weather became a lil' bit calm, so I decided to finallyyyy GO! yay :)

Mt. Pico de Loro - Sample itinerary and costs

I'll be sharing a sample of our group's itinerary and costs as we rented a jeepney from Baclaran going to the jumpoff.

Green Green Greens

While shopping at SM North department store, this saleslady approached me after I tried to fit several clothes from their brand. She insisted that if I had 699.75 pesos worth of clothes, I can send an entry to this SM-GTW thingy. This was SM-GTW Teen's Wear Stylebook entry contest where 3 can be weekly winners of one thousand worth of GC and for overall top 12 can also win two thousand worth of GC and the top 2 can win worth of twenty thousand worth of GC plus will be the next breakthrough fashionista and be seen on the pages of candy magazine. I don't know if that's what exactly the things you'll get from the contest.

Expect the Unexpected: Mt. Pundaquit Hike

According to the Basic Mountaineering Course which teaches the basics of mountaineering, planning is the first thing to do when you're about to partake a climb, usually started 2 weeks ahead to even a month or more, before the actual climb. Well in our case, we started our planning phase started less than 24 hours before the actual climb :p

Anawangin Cove On A Rainy Season

Last spurt to Anawangin cove before the summer season fully ends! But apparently, summer ended too soon for us. Two weeks before our planned date to Anawangin, we have reserved an all-in package to Nagsasa Cove including boat transfers, camp equipments, and van transfers from Manila to Zambales and back for P1600/head. Kuya Alan Arlantico is our contact and you can you can find his contact details here. But since it was already June and rainy season is just around the corner, Luzon is hammered with thunderstorms, and a typhoon just passed by Luzon.

Serendipitea: A taste of goodness

I frequently browse voucher deals from Ensogo, Metrodeal, CashCashPinoy etc. and for me any milk tea voucher deal is a must buy. So when I saw a deal that gives a 50% off on a P100 gift certificate for My SerendipiTea, I didn't hesitate to haul 8 vouchers in total :)

Potipot Island, Candelaria Zambales

Really wanted to go for this adventure before so when a friend invited me about this, I answered YES right away. Potipot Island is somewhat being called as little "Boracay of the north", maybe because of its pristine clear blue - green waters and almost fine white sand beach.

Potipot Island Adventure: Itinerary and Costs

Here is our travel itinerary and costs for our trip to Potipot Island.

Itinerary for Mt. Talamitam - Mt. Batulao (Twin Hike)

I would like the share our itinerary used for our twin hikes at Mt. Talamitam and Mt. Batulao which caters to beginners and first time hikers like me as well as the costs for the whole trip. :)

Lunch Out: North Park

On a wednesday lunch out, We planned to eat at North Park. Since this is my first time, I thought this will be just the same as every experience I had. I'm quite used to just eat everywhere and anywhere accessible, near, hassle free, and of course, budget wise.

Batangas Twin Hike Part II: Mt. Batulao

As said from the previous blog post (first Part of Batangas Twin Hike Part I: Mt Talamitam), We were on our way to Evercrest from Km. 83. For the bus ride, we had to pay a fare of P25. Upon arriving at Evercrest, tricycle drivers flocked us offering a ride that will take us to the village near the jumpoff. We first rejected their offers as we need to resupply first on the sari-sari stores right in front of Evercrest across the highway. After resupplying, we got a tricycle ride which costs P110 for 4 persons and off we go.

Batangas Twin Hike Part I: Mt. Talamitam

First time to hike a mountain, correction its MOUNTAINS. Mt. Talamitam and Mt. Batulao twin hike in Batangas. I never expect myself to go as far as it has been. Its like telling and asking myself, "Hiking a mountain?? walking, trekking, climbing under the unexplanably heat of the SUN?!" oh well, Im some kind of a person that never-goes-out whenever the sun is striking so hot.

How to get to Ocean Adventure and Camayan Beach Resort, Subic.

My first time to go there with my friends/officemates last month, March.
Beforehand, we bought a deal on Ensogo last January for an Ocean Adventure day pass 325 instead of 550.

Camayan Beach Resort, Subic

It was so long ago when I had a chance to dip my feet on a beach, I can't remember exactly when it was but as far as I know, that was when I was still a little. My parents are strict. When I was in highschool and up to college, they seldom allow me to go out of towns with my friends or even to have an overnight trip with my colleagues. They will just allow me if its related to my thesis. So now I am a fully working gal, I now have the chance to explore the world and I think this is the start of something new..

We just planned to have a day tour on Ocean Adventure, others asked me if we will be staying at a beach after, as I dont have any idea with the outside world, I don't know the plans after that day tour on Ocean Adventure. And I start searching... googling.. browsing the net and found some blogs about this Camayan beach resort. So we planned that after Ocean Adventure, we should head to this resort.

BEACH AT LAST! :)

The rocky side of Camayan Beach Resort, near the entrance.

The sand is not as fine and very far when compared to other beaches like Boracay, it has a hint of black and grayish at most parts.

Enjoyed the beach with my friends. Will have more beach travel soon.

Ocean Adventure, Subic

This was on the first week of March. Summer getaway with officemate buddies and friends.

Hello Summer :)

What i wore when I went to Ocean Adventure, Subic this summer? :)

Banapple a day, Everyday Okay. :)

Went to market market with officemates Keigh, Rose and Daryl to get their cedula..
We haven't taken our lunch yet, and this is what I crave for. My first time to eat at Banapple  :)

My Tea, Bonifacio Global City Taguig.

After having our lunch at the office, my officemate buddy and I decided to try the newly opened milk tea shop near our building. Every morning we passed by here riding from our office shuttle. I have been intrigued of this shop, I have never seen MY TEA in any malls, so I guess this is one of the newly established brand. And we decided to pay a visit :)

Tea 101, Banawe.

Tea 101 has 3 branches, Mindanao Ave, Banawe and Timog.
We got the Banawe branch accidentally through a deal. Not so much far from my place, but its not as accessible as you may think. (That is if you're not familiar with the place).
Arrived there with the warmest feel of the store. Greens.

Hello Kitty kind of day
