Enchanted Cave, Bolinao

There are three caves in Bolinao which are named the Enchanted Cave, Wonderful Cave and Cindy's Cave. We went there hoping we could visit and take a swim in each of the caves but when we went to Cindy's Cave, it is under construction that is why the cave is closed while it is still being renovated. We went to Cindy's Cave but the power is out in the town and it is pitch dark inside the cave that's why we were not allowed to swim by the caretaker. So our only option is at the Enchanted Cave which by chance also has the most expensive entrance fee among the three caves. How overpriced are they? Well, there is a parking fee for vehicles depending on size, even motorbikes and tricycles, which is P20 and P50 for SUVs. As for the entrance, it is P70 per head and an additional P30 per head if you would swim inside the cave. You can compare that to Cindy's Cave fixed at P50 per head and at Wonderful Cave which is P40 per head and 70 per head if you'll go swimming.

Enough of the rants, it seems like the management of Enchanted Cave has transformed it into much more than a just a cave anyway. Upon entering you'll be greeted by a garden of sorts with picnic tables for rent. There is also a small where you can buy food. To the right is a small swimming pool you can dip in.

Well let's proceed to the cave itself as that is why we went there anyway. after some few steps down the ground is the cave with its clear water pool below. We were expecting that the caretaker inside the cave would at least tell us anything about the cave but unfortunately, he was just there sitting, teasing the other visitors who was down in the cave with us. He only told us not to go to the dark chambers leading deeper into the cave and that the deepest point in the middle is around 6 feet deep. I got disappointed with the management of the cave which made me not want to swim anymore.

Anyway, some of my friends still took a dip in the waters and according to them, the waters are really cold and not salty at all. The lighted area extends far out to the back of the cave and after that is off limits. When we got there, we were only together with a couple of other visitors but a few minutes later, a large group came inside the cave with lots of noisy kids. The area near the pool suddenly became crowded and noisy so we left hanging our heads in disappointment because this is the only cave we got to visit on our trip to Bolinao.

Anyway the Enchanted Cave is still a beauty on its own and one of the places you should visit if you ever find yourselves in Bolinao, Pangasinan.
