Refreshing Kawasan Falls Of Badian, Cebu

There are a lot of things to do and places to explore in Cebu City. And what's more great was that there are numerous waterfalls in Cebu that you could actually explore if you want just a daytrip relaxation. One of the many waterfalls is this Kawasan Falls in Badian Cebu that we recently visit.

Kawasan Falls is located at Barangay Matutinao in Badian Cebu and it is more or less 3 hours away from Cebu City. Going there, you may catch a bus from Cebu City's South Bus Terminal and drop off at Badian.

From the main road, you may need to walk a little 15 minutes or atleast 1.5 kilometers to get to the falls. While walking, you will passed by a river on the left side. This river is called the Matutinao River and its one of the cleanest river I've seen yet. The water is so clear that I can see those rocks underneath. There is also entrance fee to the falls that is 10 pesos per head.

The trail is fairly easy and it is well established. You could follow the paths easily and its green surroundings is very great. It looks well maintained and the river looks quite refreshing. You also have to crossed this mini bridge and its good for picture taking.

Another bridge that you will passed under, and its one of the indicator that you're getting nearer the falls.

15 minutes later or less, we arrived greatly at the falls. Kawasan Falls does have several layers to explore, but that was later did I know that it has. We only visited this first layer of the falls, which I'm very satisfied and overwhelmed.

This first layer of Kawasan Falls was said to be approximately 40 meters in height and the next layer to this one is about 20 meters in height. This turquoise colored basin was so refreshing and was so cold actually.  I guess it was deep that much that most of the people swimming in there wears life vest.

With Sir Ephraim(the man behind Selfless Travels) again. He didn't swim in the cold waters of Kawasan Falls, he just insisted to take pictures of us while we swim.

If you want to swim you have the option to rent a life vest or not but it should be at your own risk to swim without the vest on. I think its deep down there. Life vests for rent is 50 pesos each. There are also rafts for rent to take you near the falls and have a relaxing massage. We did not bother to rent one because with our life vest on, we can swim near the falls. Tables and cottages for rent is also available. Tables I heard was 300.
