Our foodtrip here at 1st colonial grill was on that sunny day when we were desperately looking for foodstores that sells some authentic Bicol Express and Laing leading us to Gaisano Mall but later found out there were no eateries outside offering one and was surprised to know that there was a branch of this 1st Colonial Grill inside Gaisano Mall.
We wasted no time and queue ourselves in the waiting area of the resto to dine in. Excited to try here because of some bloggers who have been here before and enjoyed a good and satisfying meal.
The staffs where attentive and brought to us whatever we requested. Some were smiling, and some were just straight faces. Not a big deal though. As long as they politely give us what we need, it's all good.
I love the fact that they served us an unlimited soup while we're waiting for our food to be served. The first soup was like from Sinigang na Hipon, I can taste the shrimpy broth and it was flavorful. My second cup of soup was from pork broth, delicious too!
THE MENU:
Wide selection of desserts
From soups to main selections like pork category
They also have veggies selection for those vegetarians out there
And also, Beef.
From the menu section, we cannot decide which to order. So we just then order a solo meal for each of us and also one additional viand to share for all of us.
OUR FOOD:
My colonial liempo meal P119 . Have you noticed the coned shape rice? The pattern, was a resemblance of Bicol's famous Mt. Mayon. Very nice idea and a catchy way also for their customers to remember their trademark.
Chicken Fillet P120.
Laingggggg!!!!
Sisig P129.
Porkchop P119.
Sisig P129.
Overall, our experience was great! The rice from our meal was unlimited, and we got to try first their tinapa rice which was delicious! I am not fond of eating too much rice, but hey! I asked for a half refill of my rice! Delicious and fulfilling eh! "Kanin palang, ulam na!" Haha. And because we were so much full, we didn't ordered ice cream anymore.
PART 2:
Since our first dine in at 1st colonial grill was remarkable, on our 3rd day was foodtripping day, and I would probably regret if I didnt took the opportunity to try their sili ice cream. Glad we did just hours before our flight back to Manila.
The ice cream on the left was Tinutong na Bigas, and the 2nd one was the famous Sili ice cream. I love the sili ice cream for its questionably 'how-do-they-make-it-that-way?'. Like you can taste the little punch of spicyness on the throat and not on the moment it stepped into your mouth. (ano daw???) haha. But I like better the Tinutong na Bigas, it was indeed true to its claim, a roasted rice. But it was like tiramisu for me also. My tastebuds was quite confused ha! Hehe :)
Have you tried those too? :) Happy foodtrip!
