Where to stay in Legazpi City: Mayon Backpackers Hostel

Looking for a budget friendly hostel/inn that is located near the Legazpi City airport? You may want to check this budget hostel that will surely be pocket-friendly and worthy enough for your money. It is located at #040 Brgy. 11, Maoyod Subdivision Legazpi City, Albay.

Upon arriving at the Legazpi City Airport, we immediately turn on mobile data and search for the address of Mayon Backpackers Hostel as I forgot to take down notes the address and its contact number. So googling it did not give us a hard time, in fact through our GPS we can detect the way to its location. So we hire a tricycle and instructed the driver to directly drop us off at Mayon Backpackers Hostel.

Good thing was that most drivers exactly know where Mayon Backpackers Hostel is. So surely, you won't be having a hard time getting there. We paid 70 pesos all in all for the tricycle ride up to the hostel, a bit on a high price but you can haggle it down for sure(cause Legazpi City Airport is just some 10 minutes or less), which in our case we didn't because we just wanted to immediately get to the hostel to prepare and leave our luggages. Anyway, going to the hostel, there are signs on the street that will lead you to its locatioton. So if you wanna just walk around is not a problem, you will probably not to mind getting lost.

Upon arriving we were greeted by a homey ambiance of the Mayon Backpackers Hostel. Its like a typical home that turns into a hostel. Their logos and signages also added appeal to their hostel.

We immediately walked in and asked for the available rooms that could fit us four.

ROOMS:
* Air-conditioned dorm accommodation that is priced at P350 per night. Fan-cooled dorm accommodation priced at around P250 per night

AGUILA ROOM - 4 dorm beds, fan-cooled, common toilet and bath, P250 per bed
RIZAL ROOM - 6 dorm beds, air-conditioned, bathroom w/shower, P350 per bed
TINIKLING ROOM - 2 dorm beds, 1 double bed, air-conditioned, bathroom w/shower
(dorm beds - P350, double bed - P450 for 1 person, P700 for 2) or you can book
the whole room for an individual or couple or for four people at P1200 per night
BAHAY KUBO ROOM - 6 dorm beds, air-conditioned, bathroom w/shower, P350 per bed
SAMPAGUITA ROOM - 1 double bed, air-conditioned, bathroom w/bathtub & shower, P1000/night.

We were just simply looking for a fan-cooled room since we would mostly go out to tour, and just be there to sleep, so my first option was to stay at the Aguila Room plus its just P250 per head. But the staff informed us that it was already occupied so we had to choose another room. And we all agreed to Tinikling Room since it can accommodate 4 people. The staff immediately show the room and gave us the keys, and open the aircon.

All in all, the experience was great, we checked in the Tinikling Room for 3D/2N (P1200 per night). It was affordable for P300 per head per night. The staffs were very attentive and tried to answer everything we inquire about. Also prior for this, we tried to reserve/book a room and they didn't ask us to deposit any amount (talking about trust). And everything we needed was there, we couldn't ask for more. Our room was very clean and comfy to sleep at night, though it was freakin' cold so we barely turn on the aircon. I just had a concerned regarding the toilet flash, it was not working. But nevertheless, it was clean and it has showers, tissue and soap. In the mornings, we have an unlimited pandesal, coffee/tea and fruits for as long as they are available on the table which was a bonus ha! Thinking we will pay just P300 per night. There is also wifi and internet area(PC) so if you forgot to bring your gadgets, you can still update your Facebook and the rest of your social media thing. Just be reminded not to stay much longer because there are also other who may wanna use the computer. They also offer tour package, also discounts for larger groups and extended stays. Talking about discounts, we were four in the group and the other 2 wasn't able to sleep at the hostel due to their Caramoan thing, so we asked if they can give us discount since the 2 wasn't able to make it to the hostel that night plus we barely turn on the aircon since it was cold at night. And they kindly charged us from P1200 per night (for the whole room) to just P1000 per night! THAT WAS SO KIND! So we paid, P500 per head for 2 nights. :) Thankyou for that! We'll surely comeback :)

So guys do check this Mayon Backpackers Hostel when you happened to be in Legazpi City!
