Wondering where to eat in Bicol? What are the foods you want to taste when in Bicol? My personal requests are of course their famous and most raved Bicol Express, Laing and Sili Ice Cream! Bicol is not just famous because of their perfectly cone shape Mt. Mayon volcano but also for their yummy food and delicacies. Well, here's the list of our foodtrips when we were in Bicol. :)
The 1st Colonial Grill is where we have taken our Lunch on our first day in Legazpi City. It was lunchtime the sun were striking so hot and we were oh so hungry and waited not too long before we had a vacant table. They are famous for their Sili Ice Cream, though we didn't try it on our first day here, but rather on a later day.
We had a solo meals and a Laing for sharing, All I can say is I loved their Tinapa cone shape rice. We spend no more than 200 pesos per head. And it was superb and fulfilling! I regret not ordering their Bicol Express because later on we haven't found any foodstores offering one. You may want to read my full blog post about 1st Colonial Grill HERE.
On our third and last day, I said to myself I will not leave Bicol Region without tasting the Sili Icecream of 1st Colonial Grill. We gave it a try and found ourselves not having disappointment despite the fact that we were bloated hehe :) You may want to read my full blog post about 1st Colonial Grill HERE.
Streetfoods can be found at Malilipot Town Center and it is worth a try, specially their homemade FISH VEGGIE BALLS by the vendor Tatay Manong itself. Sorry I forgot his name :)
Looks fried isaw but apparently, not.

Before your island hopping / beach hopping in Matnog, Sorsogon you can eat outside the premises of the pier which sells cheap but satisfying meal! They have many dish to offer and all of those are perfect for your budget friendly pocket.
We tried bicol express which looks pork binagoongan hehe, and porksteak for my travel buddy. Spending no more than 50 pesos per person for a single viand and a rice is a cheapskate and budget friendly deal right? :D
We also had the famous pinangat of Let's Pinangat in Camalig, Albay. It's tastier and yummier than Laing. Its made of ube leaves and coconut milk, plus I think there is somewhat fish(tinapa) in some parts of the dish. Read about my first taste of Pinangat HERE.
Pinangat plus rice for a fulfilling breakfast! :) Yumm!
Last but not the least is also a famous foodstop in Bicol, DJC halo halo for dessert will not just win your tastebuds but satisfies your sweet tooth cravings. And because its serving is huge, it can fulfill two tummies for sure. A seperate blog post for this, which can be found HERE.
Yummy cheesy superb halo halo of DJC :p
We haven't tried the most blogged Small Talk Cafe and Bigg's Diner, we were running out of time to visit all of those and etc for our foodtrips. And I think it's not a big issue even if we don't dine for Bigg's Diner for example. Because it is like an American fastfood chain and I don't think its much more of a Bicol's top worthy visit. Just my opinion :)
What are the other foodtrippings that you have tried and that you can recommend aside from what I mentioned? :)
