When arranging for an accommodation in Baler, reservations should be done atleast a whole month before your preferred travel date as Baler is a really popular destination for surfing in the Philippines. Well, not in our case atleast as we only tried contacting inns and hotels 1 week before our supposed to be travel date. :p
We were having difficulties as most of the one we tried contacting either can't be contacted (we read some blogs that some inns turn off their phones if they are already fully booked) and if we were able to get through, they will just tell us that they are fully booked. The only accomodation we were able to reserve was very far from the beach front that is why we are still hesitating whether to go for it or just search the beach front inns ourselves.
We tried searching other nearby inns which they would only tell us that they are fully booked, which is what brought us to Elaine MM Lodge, one of the numerous beach front inns facing Sabang Beach. Upon inquiring them if they are able to accommodate 7 people, the lady in the store told us that their only vacancy is a fan room good for 4. She told us however that a family who reserved the other fan room already left because they didn't find the room suitable to their taste, that is why we were able to close the deal on the two 4 person fan rooms with shared balcony for 800/night each.

Staying in a beach front resort is most advisable as you would be near in Baler's biggest attraction which is of course, surfing! Be advised though as prices of common commodities are quite high in the beach front area.

There is enough space on the rooms for all our stuffs and the beds are really huge, and since they are placed next to each other, I guess that it can easily fit 6 people if you are in a tight budget. The rooms has their own bathroom which is another plus, no shower though but is good enough for the price that you are paying. They only provided us with one stand fan and we thought that it is not enough but we were proven wrong as the wind the blows from the beach is really cold that it feels like you also have an air conditioning on!

Another plus is that there is a balcony which gives a very nice view of the whole stretch of Sabang Beach and it is also connected to the other room which our friends is also using that is why it feels like you are just on a one big room only with dividers :p

They have their own door to the beach which gives you easy access to the surf schools and having a beach front inn really removes the hassles of securing your stuffs as you can just leave it in your rooms and get it if you forget anything.
If ever you're planning to go to Baler, try Elaine MM Lodge as it is cheap, but they provide good service with clean rooms and bathrooms :)
