Dona Aurora Quezon House in Baler

The province of Aurora(formerly Aurora Quezon Province) was named after the wife and the first lady of the Old Commonwealth President Manuel Luis Quezon, namely Aurora Antonia Aragón Vd.ª de Quezón. She was assassinated way back then, so to honor and commemorate her memory, the province was named after her.

The house of Aurora Quezon was a residential house before. It was burned down back then when the Spanish-American War and Philippine-American war happened in Baler. But then, it was being reconstructed after.

It was owned by her Father, Pedro Aragon. Situated at the corner of San Luis & Rizal St., Poblacion, Baler, Aurora.

It was picturesque, inside and outside. An old traditional Nipa Style house. The house was clean and well-maintained and so I was right regarding the donation. It was clearly for the maintainance of the house. It is convenient for the tourist to visit and see some historical figures inside of the house to understand their cultural way of life.

While roaming around inside you can see some historical stuffs and notes that was being preserved since then. Also some sayas that maybe was used and owned by the lady itself Aurora Quezon. Good window frames, nipa roofs, mini library, rooms, kitchens, sala, I love everything inside.

Also, from Aurora Quezon's House, you can have a clear glimpse of the Baler(San Luis Obispo de Tolosa) Church. Literally in front of Aurora Quezon's House.
